biography

Parth Madan was born and raised in Delhi, India. Prior to the MPP, he worked as a Senior Consultant with Dalberg Advisors.

As a consultant, Parth provided strategy and policy advisory to donor agencies, development finance institutions (DFIs) and global non-profits across topics such as renewable energy, water and sanitation, financial inclusion, and sustainable agriculture. 

Parth is particularly passionate about the role of off-grid energy technologies in addressing the global energy access challenge. Most recently, he co-authored a report commissioned by Sustainable Energy for All that contained the first piece of analysis to quantify the magnitude and type of capital needed for enabling universal access to electricity and clean cooking in Ghana, Mozambique, and Vietnam. Before that, he also advised a leading DFI to design a programme which supports the penetration of solar home systems for underserved segments in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Parth holds a dual degree in Biological Sciences and Mechanical Engineering from BITS Pilani. Parth is a Chevening/HSBC Scholar.
