biography

Pablo Mira Hurtado was born in Santiago de Chile, where he remained until the age of 18.

Then, Pablo dedicated himself to social and community work for seven years, leading and accompanying marginalised communities in Peru, Colombia and Argentina. This allowed him to get in touch with the main social problems of the Latin American continent and led him to specialise his research on the migratory phenomenon, working with institutions and NGOs across Chile, Haiti, the US and Greece.

When he graduated as a lawyer, Pablo worked in the Government of Chile in the design and implementation of the National Child Protection Service. Finally, he was asked to coordinate the operation of the Chilean Constitutional Convention, in which he actively participated, first as Government Coordinator and then as Constitutional Advisor to the Chilean Indigenous Representatives.

Pablo's political interests lie in the design and implementation of public policies for special protection groups, with an emphasis on migrants, vulnerable children and indigenous communities.

Pablo is a Luksic Scholar.
