biography

Ovith is a Tamil-Canadian and federal civil servant. He graduated with a first-class undergraduate degree in commerce from Queen's University in Canada.

Over the last two years, Ovith has led government policy, technology, and human-centred design research as an analyst at the Canada Border Services Agency to facilitate problem-solving tackling pressing border governance, immigration, and human rights issues. In this role, Ovith played a leading part in establishing a multi-disciplinary coalition of government and industry experts to investigate the technology and policy concerns of radiation and bomb detection at Canadian borders. With a strong passion for public service, Ovith is curious to learn how to leverage effective policymaking and interventions to promote a more just and equitable society globally. Ovith's key policy and academic interests are in the areas of international law and diplomacy, human rights, social justice, and conflict resolution.
