Omar graduated from Rutgers University as a doctor of pharmacy with healthcare experience extending across the community pharmacy, hospital, and pharmaceutical manufacturer settings. He has experience within the public sector as a county committeeman, federal judicial intern, and most recently a Congressional intern with Senator Andy Kim. His key policy interests encompass, but are not limited to, addressing rising drug costs and reduced healthcare access in the United States without compromising on therapeutic innovation or quality of care. Omar is a board member of Muslim Basketball, leveraging sport as a vehicle for community-building, youth development, and promoting healthy living. Drawing on his heritage, Omar founded the Seeds of a Watermelon Scholarship Fund, raising over $200,000 in 2025 to support displaced Gazan students pursuing higher education globally. Omar is a Rhodes and Truman Scholar.
