Over the last year, Ndabong Nchinda-Pungong has been at Oxford learning about global health science and epidemiology.
Ndabong's experience has made it evident that resolving public health challenges requires solid integration between academic researchers and policymakers.
As a future researcher, Ndabong is joining the Blavatnik School to learn how scientific recommendations can be better incorporated into health policy. His policy interests include public health and the role of biomedical innovation.
Ndabong's prior work includes microbial genomics and investigating the connection between HIV transmission routes, such as intravenous drug use, with the spread of particular HIV strains.
During his bachelor’s degree at Harvard, he worked on health-focused interventions, both as a project team member with Harvard Engineers Without Borders and as an intern with the InterAmerican Center for Global Health in Costa Rica.
Ndabong grew up just outside Milwaukee in the US. Ndabong is a Rhodes Scholar.
