biography

Nicolas Eduardo Ramos Calderon is a Colombian lawyer with a master's in International Law from Universidad de los Andes (Bogota, Colombia).

Nicolas dreams of contributing to the achievement a stable and long-lasting peace in his country.

For this reason, while serving as a public officer for the Colombian state, Nicolas has focused his career on human rights and peacebuilding: first, as part of the human rights team of the National Agency for the Legal Defense of the State, and then as a lawyer at the Special Peace Jurisdiction, the transitional tribunal created under the 2016 peace accord reached between the Government and the FARC guerrilla in order to provide truth, justice and reparations to victims of armed conflict in Colombia.

While working there, Nicolas has already been able to contribute to the Colombian peacebuilding effort, however, he expects that the MPP will help him acquire further interdisciplinary public policy tools that complement his legal experience and allow him to play an effective leading role thereafter.

Nicolas is a Chevening Scholar.
