From Singapore, Navin is a city planner at the Urban Redevelopment Authority, the country’s national land use planning agency. He spent nine years with the Physical Planning Group working on transit-oriented planning, brownfield site rejuvenation, and greenfield housing development. Navin recently served as Project Lead for the statutory review of the Master Plan which guides the city’s near-to-medium term development. The exercise culminated in the publication of Master Plan 2025 and was Singapore’s largest urban planning engagement exercise to-date, with over 220,000 residents engaged. His policy interests are housing and local government. He aims to return home to work on planning policy for the regeneration of public housing towns. Navin’s career in planning builds on a foundation in geography. He holds a Joint BA from the National University of Singapore and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, graduating in 2016 with valedictory honours and the NUS Geographical Society Gold Medal.
