Nandini Gupta worked in public policy research in India for over a decade before joining the Blavatnik School as a DPhil candidate.

Nandina worked with organisations like J-PAL, the World Bank and the Centre for Equity Studies in public policy research for more than ten years.  Her work has focused on designing and implementing large-scale research and data use projects, largely with government partners, across various sectors such as public health, nutrition and education to further evidence-informed decision-making. 

Nandini’s policy interest lies in understanding how public service delivery can be improved in low-income democracies like India, focusing on issues of state capacity, local governance and citizen accountability.

From Delhi in India, she has a BA in Economics from the University of Delhi and a Master’s in Economics for Development from the University of Oxford.
