Muhammed was born and bred in the beautiful city of Kuantan, located at the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia. Upon finishing his undergraduate degree in economics at the University of Warwick, he returned home to work for his sponsor, the Central Bank of Malaysia, soon becoming the youngest ever central banker to be seconded to the Prime Minister's Office of Malaysia to assist the Economic Director to the PM on post-recovery fiscal policies following the pandemic. Muhammed has now returned to the Central Bank focusing on safeguarding the nation's financial stability with particular focus on non-bank financial institutions (NBFIs).
