biography

Mohamed is multilingual, including in Arabic and Turkish, and is a proud Somali, born in Qardho, Somalia.

He worked at the Office of National Security at the Presidency overseeing government efforts to lift the long-standing UNSC arms embargo on Somalia. Mohamed succeeded in implementing the national weapons and ammunition strategy, which led the UNSC to review the arms embargo measures. Mohamed holds a BA in Community Development and an MA in Political Science and Public Administration, where he specialised in post-conflict state-building and democratisation. Mohamed aspires to play an integral role in the ongoing peace and state-building efforts in Somalia by contributing to the improvement of the security sector institutions through effective policy design and implementation. He looks forward to acquiring the skills and knowledge to meaningfully contribute to the transformation of Somalia.
