Mirriam Mueni is a graduate quantity surveyor from Kenya, having completed her undergraduate degree in Quantity Surveying at the University of Nairobi.

Mirriam worked with a regional reinsurance company headquartered in Nairobi – ZEPRE (PTA Reinsurance Company) – as a Young Professional Property Admin Assistant for two years before winning the Rhodes Scholarship and relocating to Oxford for her first master's degree in Sustainability, Enterprise and the Environment.

Her interests in policy are around the creation, amendment and enforcement of sustainability-related policy. Mirriam is keen to learn about lobbying and negotiations, especially how the private sector can work closely with governments locally and globally to address urgent issues like climate change.

She has also been working part-time with the Rhodes Trust on an exciting role that will be focusing on the Trust and Africa in the 21st Century, as well as with their Outreach and Selection team globally. Mirriam is a Rhodes Scholar.
