Michelle Shuting Wang
My name is Michelle and I am a future civil servant for the Singaporean government. As a fresh graduate in Economics, my work experience comes in the form of internships. I have done three internships with the Singapore civil service, two of which were in the security sector (with the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Singapore Corporation of Rehabilitative Enterprises) and one in the community sector (National Youth Council).
I have a diverse range of policy-related key interests, all of which I hope to explore in my future career with the civil service. In no particular order, they are (1) internal security policy – innovation to increasingly complex security challenges and rehabilitation of ex-offenders, (2) social policy – helping vulnerable women, adults, elderly, and those with special needs, and (3) industry policy – reviewing the manufacturing and services policies to ensure competitiveness, and overseeing emerging markets.
