Michael is a US Marshall Scholar pursuing a MSc in Education (Child Development) at Wolfson College, Oxford under the supervision of Dr Sonali Nag.
Michael graduated from Georgetown University in 2022 with a degree in Regional and Comparative Studies (Asia and Latin America). His time in DC, where he taught preschool and worked in the central office at DC Public Schools, sparked his passion for education policy.
Michael then moved to St Louis, Missouri to complete the Coro Fellowship in Public Affairs. As a Coro Fellow, Michael developed a policy for the President of the Board of Aldermen which would provide universal early childhood care and education in the City of St Louis.
Hailing from Bend, Oregon, Michael has also made an impact on education policy back home. He consulted for Stand for Children Oregon, leading the first-ever evaluation of Measure 98, a ballot initiative which aimed to improve the state’s high school graduation rates.
At Oxford, Michael conducts research on population-level measurement of early childhood development. He also plays for Oxford’s Australian Rules Football team.
