I am from Tokyo, Japan and graduated from University of Tokyo with a Bachelor's degree in law. For the past five years I have worked at the Japanese Ministry of Finance, where I served as a researcher of foreign tax policy, a coordinator for an OECD tax conference held in Japan on the OECD/G20 Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS) Project, and a section chief at Customs and Tariff Bureau. My main policy interests include tax policy as well as fiscal policy. After completing my two-year study in the UK, I will return to serve the Japanese government. I look forward to joining the Blavatnik School of Government and acquiring knowledge and skills to tackle pressing policy issues.
