Her work includes project planning, research, policy advocacy, and public speaking. A significant milestone in Maureen's career was leading a parliamentary petition that successfully protected Nairobi National Park from ecological threats caused by poor development planning. Recently, as a curriculum developer with the World Economic Forum’s Global Shapers initiative, she designed leadership and entrepreneurship programmes for girls in marginalised communities in Nairobi’s slums and Samburu, Kenya. She aims to bridge the gap between wildlife conservation and policy development to promote sustainable growth across Africa.
