biography

Marta is originally from Łódź, Poland, studied BSc Social Anthropology at the LSE and was selected for the first LSE-UC Berkeley exchange. She is passionate about advancing gender equality and women's rights through evidence-based policymaking, and is interested in further exploring how women’s political participation drives progress in sustainability, security, and equality.

In her most recent role at ICF, Marta led research and evaluation projects for the EU, focusing on strengthening citizen engagement and inclusion in democratic processes and improving EU decision-making and funding mechanisms. She is co-founder of the Women in Diplomacy initiative which works to address women’s underrepresentation in multilateral decision-making and integrate gender considerations into policymaking.

Marta's experience spans various sectors, including think tanks, communications, philanthropy, and consulting. She has also volunteered with charities focused on women’s rights, refugee rights, and good governance.

Marta is a Social Impact Alliance for Central & Eastern Europe scholar and Prodigy Finance scholar.
