Mark Crofts joined the School in 2013 as a Finance Officer and has supported both pre-award and post-award research activities during his time. As the Senior Finance Manager for Research Projects at the School, he is responsible for the management and oversight of the School's research finances and administration, including the operational delivery of research projects, providing strategic financial guidance, ensuring compliance with funder and University requirements, and leading post-award research support. He also oversees financial forecasting and reporting, and works closely with the Head of Finance to identify and mitigate financial risks associated with the School’s research programmes.
As a key member of the School's Research Support team, he works closely with Principal Investigators, project managers and professional services colleagues to ensure the effective financial management and administration of research funding, supporting the successful delivery of projects.
Prior to joining the School, Mark worked at the UK National Agency for the Lifelong Learning Programme as Assistant Finance Manager, where he provided financial advice and oversight for beneficiaries of the Leonardo da Vinci Transfer of Innovation programme, monitoring project budgets and supporting grant compliance.
