biography

Marieme is a Senegalese consultant and entrepreneur with five years of experience in strategy and policy consulting. Prior to Oxford, Marieme was a consultant for EPIC-Africa. She also spent 4 years at Dalberg Advisors where she focused on projects centered on strategy design along with policy research, design, and evaluation in different sectors. She was seconded to COP28 as an Education Specialist supporting COP28’s Education Team and COP28 Presidency on initiatives focused on integrating climate literacy in K-12 and higher education, and supporting on political strategy/strategic alignment within the domestic and international education sector.

Marieme is the Founder of HI-WERR: a social enterprise with the goal of providing an empowering environment for girls and women in Sub Saharan Africa to improve their mental health. She holds a Bachelors in Economics w. honors from Gustavus Adolphus College, USA, and her policy interests are education, mental health, environment and tech.

Marieme is a Mastercard Foundation Scholar under the Africa Oxford Initiative (AfOx).
