Maria’s research sits at the intersection of public policy, public administration, and social data science. She uses data science, statistics, and machine learning to understand whether public policies work, for whom, why, under what conditions, and at what cost, translating complex data into evidence-informed insights. She is particularly interested in how agile, relational, and place-based modes of governance reshape policymaking and public service delivery. Since April 2024, Maria worked at the Government Outcomes Lab, generating evidence on the impact of relational, person-centred, and outcomes-based public sector reforms. She has collaborated with the Cabinet Office Public Service Reform unit, the DWP Employment Data Lab, as well as private and civil society partners. Maria is from Athens, Greece. She holds an MSc in Data Science and Public Policy and a BSc in Politics and International Relations, both from University College London. Maria is a Nuffield College-Blavatnik School of Government Scholar.
