Madelyn, originally from Monument, Colorado, is a 2024 graduate from the US Air Force Academy, where she was a distance swimmer and studied biochemistry and philosophy. She recently completed an MSc in Clinical and Therapeutic Neuroscience here at Oxford where she focused on mental health interventions, with research focusing on the examination of nature-based programmes for mental health promotion in young people and the underlying mechanisms of trauma resilience in soldiers. During the MPP, Madelyn hopes to continue exploring her interests in mental health care through a policy lens, examining how health care can be improved, particularly in a military context. After the MPP, Madelyn will return to the United States to complete her service commitment as a pilot in the US Air Force. In her free time, Madelyn loves to swim, backpack, and ski. Madelyn is a Rhodes scholar.
