biography

Madeleine Armstrong is a Project Officer for International Perspectives on Conservatism.

She completed her PhD in History at Trinity College, Cambridge as a Cambridge International Scholar. Born and raised in Vancouver, Canada, she was an undergraduate at the University St Andrews, where she won the prize for best Modern History dissertation and the Joint Honours Prize for best overall achievement in English and History.

Her research focuses on the political thought of Edmund Burke, Enlightenment ideas about the family, and the origins of Left and Right. Between the PhD and her appointment at the Blavatnik School, Madeleine worked as a researcher for the Centre for Policy Studies in Westminster.
