biography

Ľubica, known as Binka, is from Slovakia, and started her career as an analyst for the Slovak government, advising the minister on digitalisation and regional development. She then worked as a researcher and consultant at the World Bank on the design of tax systems in low-income countries and the inclusion of marginalised Roma communities across Eastern Europe. Most recently, as an external expert, Binka has been helping the UK government evaluate the impact of some of the most important digital and innovation initiatives in the country.

Each step of Binka's career is driven by her goal to become the best policymaker she can be and use her expertise to improve governance in Eastern Europe.  Binka's professional interests include social protection, intergenerational poverty, inequality, and the inclusion of ethnic minorities in Europe. She is currently exploring how modern technology can be better leveraged to strengthen the protection of vulnerable groups.
