Lalit is an electrical engineer with a master’s from the Indian Institute of Science Bengaluru. He is a civil servant in Indian Railways. For the past decade, he has worked in one of the world's largest railway networks leading teams and delivering critical public infrastructure projects including large scale railway electrification. He currently serves in Northeast India where he works to improve transport services in an underserved region. Lalit’s experience has strengthened his interest in sustainable infrastructure development evidence based policymaking and effective public institutions. At Oxford, Lalit hopes to learn from peers with diverse professional and cultural backgrounds to broaden his perspective on complex policy challenges and develop practical solutions that contribute to more inclusive and sustainable public policy.
