biography

Kotaro has been working for the Government of Japan for five years. Most recently, at the cabinet secretariat, he has planned national policies for managing the COVID-19 pandemic, utilising cutting-edge technologies and based on interdisciplinary research including Epidemiology, Macroeconomics and Computer Science. Kotaro has also worked at the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications in the field of cybersecurity and digital technologies, focusing on economic security and legal enforcement. His policy interests include national security and cybersecurity, digital and internet policy, international relations and diplomatic policy, and public health. Following the MPP, Kotaro hopes to be able to lead a wide range of security and digital initiatives as a politician in Japan. He holds a BA in Economics from the University of Tokyo.

Kotaro is a Japanese Government Long-Term Fellowship Program Scholar.
