biography
Kegan was raised on Cape Breton Island, in rural Nova Scotia, Canada, and has called Atlantic Canada home his whole life. He hold a Bachelor's in Political Science with a Subsidiary in Public Policy and Governance, and a Concentration in Canadian Politics from St. Francis Xavier University. For two and a half years, he served as his province's regional advisor to Canada's federal cabinet, working to ensure federal policies accounted for his region's distinct needs. Since then, Kegan worked as a Policy Officer for a post-secondary student advocacy group, and currently, as a Senior Advisor to a Member of Parliament. He is interested in exploring how democracies can work together to solve the crisis of declining youth voting rates and how to make systems more responsive to youth. He believes strengthening democratic systems to ensure their longevity will be the defining issue of the next decade, and he is excited to collaborate on innovative policy solutions to do so.
