Kaylyn is a Marshall Scholar, Truman Scholar, and GLAAD 20 Under 20 Honoree. She has interned with the OSRSG-VAC, UNHCR Mexico, the World Bank Inspection Panel, the U.S. Mission South Africa, the White House Initiative on AANHPI, and the Office of the U.S. Special Envoy for Afghan Women, Girls, and Human Rights. She was a researcher for the Oxford Institute for Technology and Justice and an Oxford Pro Bono Publico researcher for OHCHR and the UN Special Rapporteur on the Independence of Judges and Lawyers. Kaylyn graduated magna cum laude with honors in legal studies from Northwestern University. She currently serves as Treasurer on the Board of Directors of NOVA. In 2022, as the affected victim, she spearheaded legislation to amend the definition of sexual assault in the Illinois Criminal Code. Kaylyn testified before the Illinois General Assembly and later spoke alongside the Governor at the bill signing, the law enabled prosecution in over 47,000 previously unaddressable cases.
