Kavya was born and raised in Orlando, Florida, and graduated from Harvard College with a degree in chemical and physical biology and statistics. As an undergraduate, Kavya researched brain aging and neurodegeneration at the Harvard Department of Stem Cell and Regenerative Biology. He also co-wrote an infectious diseases textbook, developed a telemedicine clinic for patients with diabetes, and taught introductory statistics and life sciences courses. During the past year, Kavya has pursued an MPhil in Computational Biology at the University of Cambridge.
Having worked with both non-profit medical organisations and private healthcare ventures, Kavya is interested in building accessible community health programs and addressing the social factors that influence health disparities. He hopes to merge clinical practice and policy to drive lasting changes in public health, and will attend medical school after his studies at Oxford.
Kavya is a Brasenose-Blavatnik-Marshall scholar.
