Katherine is a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army and a 2025 graduate of the United States Military Academy, where she served as President of the Class of 2025. Originally from Indiana, she earned her Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering at West Point. As a Barry Scholar, Katherine recently completed the MSc in Energy Systems at the University of Oxford's Department of Engineering Science, with dissertation research focused on critical mineral recovery from end-of-life US Department of War batteries. She examined the environmental, economic, and supply chain implications of current disposal practices and what a domestic recovery strategy could look like for the DoW. Katherine’s policy interests centre on critical minerals and energy security. After the MPP, she will return to the Army as a Human Resources officer, first stationed in Vilseck, Germany.
