biography

Kåre Holm Thomsen is an experienced policy and economics journalist from Denmark.

After analysing public policy for years, Kåre would like to move to the other side of the table and make policy himself. He is joining the Blavatnik School of Government to be better equipped for that endeavour.

Kåre's primary interests concern public economics, central banking, and energy policy.

In recent years, he has worked as a reporter at Deadline, the flagship current affairs show of the Danish Broadcasting Corporation, and Weekendavisen, a weekly akin to The New Yorker with a pan-Scandinavian readership. He has also had a brief stint at Die Tageszeitung, a newspaper in Germany.

Kåre completed bachelor’s and master’s degrees in political science at the University of Copenhagen, where he also acted as a teaching assistant. He speaks Danish, English and German.
