Karan is currently in his second year of a Rhodes Scholarship having completed an MSc in Comparative Social Policy. Before coming to Oxford, he studied a conjoint Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts (double majoring in Political Sciences and French) degree at the University of Auckland, graduating with First Class Honours.
Karan has worked in a diverse range of international organisations, strategy consulting and law firms in Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. Most recently, he worked in the Investment Promotion Section at United Nations Trade and Development in Geneva to help build state capacity in LDCs to attract renewable energy investment. Previously, he worked in the team leading educational strategy for the Australian Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability in Sydney.
Karan's interests revolve around competition regulation, the privatisation of social services, and social housing. Karan is a Rhodes scholar.
