Kanruethai is from Thailand and holds a Bachelor of Sociology with First Class Honours from Durham University. She was a government consultant at PwC UK for 3 years where she supported digital transformation programmes for government services in the UK. Kanruethai also worked as a Sustainability Consultant at ERM Thailand on Just Transition and infrastructure development in Asia, focusing on safeguarding vulnerable populations and labour rights. Beyond consulting, she was co-founder of Safe Hug Thailand, a nonprofit working to tackle sexual harassment of children for over 5 years. The organisation has published and distributed over 9,000 free children’s books while conducting workshops on body autonomy and children’s rights with government agencies and school networks across Thailand. Kanruethai’s policy interests lie at the intersection of children’s right and climate justice where she aims to explore how policy can better engage and empower youth in climate adaptation strategies. She is a Chevening Scholar.
