Born in New Jersey, United States, Kai is a Second Lieutenant serving in the United States Army. He graduated summa cum laude from the United States Military Academy as the highest-ranking cadet in his class. At the United States Military Academy, he served as second-in-command of the Corps of Cadets. Awarded a Rhodes Scholarship, I had the opportunity to attend the University of Oxford and complete an MSc in Global Governance and Diplomacy. His thesis explored the impacts of American foreign military training programs on coups d’etat in the Sahel. In previous research, Kai studied topics ranging from the dynamics affecting American executive power to writing pedagogy.
Over the course of the MPP, Kai hopes to explore the nexus between national security, the economy, education, and healthcare as well as study the emerging global security threats emerging from contemporary great power competition. Outside of work, his hobbies include running, football, travelling, and fishing.
Kai is a Rhodes scholar.
