biography

Juan is passionate about financial markets, sustainability, and development. He worked at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in Paris since 2021, where he had the privilege of contributing to the development of a pioneering supervisory framework for central banks to assess nature-related financial risks. He also worked on topics including net zero metrics for financial institutions, sustainable bonds, development finance, and reviewed Peru's accession to the OECD focused on corporate governance and state ownership practices.

Juan attended the faculty of Finance, Government, and International Relations at Universidad Externado de Colombia. He co-authored the academic book Wrong Ideas, Wrong Actions: How the International Development Regime Hinders the Generation of Development. Juan speaks Spanish, English, French, Portuguese, German, and Italian.
