Jovera is from Lahore, Pakistan. She graduated from the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) in 2025 with a double major in Economics and Mathematics, and was valedictorian of her graduating class. At LUMS, she worked as a researcher on projects in economics, education, and law and policy, and was President of the LUMS Consultancy Group, Pakistan's largest student-run consulting club.
At Oxford, Jovera completed an MSc in economics for development in 2026. Her thesis applied quasi-experimental and machine learning methods to panel data to study how two of the most common household shocks, parental illness and harvest loss, shape children's educational outcomes in rural Punjab, Pakistan.
Jovera is also the co-founder of the Lahore Smog Collective, a public archive of Pakistanis' lived experiences of smog, and Mukhtalif, a UNDP-funded e-commerce platform that helps artisans from underserved communities sell their crafts and keep all their profits. She has also taught primary and secondary school children in public and private schools in Lahore for five years.
Jovera is a Rhodes Scholar.
