biography

Joshua is originally from Arizona and studied molecular biology and gender and sexuality studies at Princeton where his research sought to uncover novel clinical benefits of gender-affirming hormone therapy for gender-diverse youth, using molecular biology as an entry point into the political conversation around this issue.

Joshua recently received his Master's in Comparative Social Policy at the University of at Oxford and, spurred by his past work on gender-affirming medical care which is currently under legislative fire in many American states, Joshua's thesis documented and investigated the vast state-to-state disparities in legal protections for LGBTIQ+ individuals that are seen in the US.

After his studies in Oxford, Joshua will be attending medical school back in the US to begin a career as a physician-policymaker and advocate for the rights and wellbeing of LGBTIQ+ patient populations. In his spare time, Joshua loves to sing in his funk band and bake for his friends.

Joshua is a Rhodes Scholar.
