biography

Jorge Garcia is passionate about the study of the public procurement process.

Over ten years ago, Jorge founded BetaGroup, a consultancy company that works to improve the well-being of at-risk populations and strengthen public institutions in Colombia.

As BetaGroup's CEO, Jorge has directed more than 60 public policy projects ranging from agricultural issues, rural education, anticorruption systems, transparency in the extractive sector, environmental projects, nutrition for malnourished children, and entrepreneurship to the application of artificial intelligence for various purposes, among others. He led over 140 employees and impacted more than 5 million people in the country.

After the MPP Jorge plans to keep expanding his company in Colombia and in Europe.

Jorge loves sharing, discussing, and exploring ideas with his peers in order to develop new projects that benefit society. He enjoys playing the piano. He graduated as a lawyer from Los Andes University in Bogota.

Jorge is a Jaime and Raquel Gilinski Scholar.
