Hailing from Germany, Jonas works mostly in the field of comparative political economy and his current research interests lie at the intersection of climate change and business power. Jonas aspires to understand how technological advancements in decarbonisation, economic and political institutions, and sectoral characteristics shape the political dynamics of opposing and supporting interest groups in climate change mitigation.

Before joining the Blavatnik School, Jonas worked as a doctoral researcher and lecturer at the Humboldt University of Berlin, where he obtained his BA and MA in Social Sciences.
