His experience spans government control, finance, and administration, where he has been recognised for contributions to fiscal intelligence, administrative reforms, state modernisation and public leadership. He is passionate about addressing inefficiencies in public financial management to promote transparency and equitable resource allocation.
João Marcos' key policy interests lie in advocating for improved planning and execution processes to enhance social and economic development in Brazil. A practical example of the policies he works with is the recently launched 'Produtor Nota 10', a programme that, through tax incentives and prize draws for farmers, significantly reduced tax evasion.
