Jihye is a Korean policy advisor whose academic and professional journey has been shaped by a lifelong interest in the Islamic world. At 16, she converted to Islam and chose to study politics in Malaysia to better understand the societies she hoped to engage with professionally. During her undergraduate studies, Jihye built a career as a brand ambassador while financing her education, graduated at the top of her class, and went on to serve in the Malaysian Parliament, the Indonesian National Assembly, and Korean politics, contributing to policymaking for four elections for the current five-term Mayor of Seoul in youth, women, housing, and public affairs. Her primary policy interests are Korea–Middle East relations, and OIC engagement, while also expanding her expertise in AI, security, climate change and economic policy. After Oxford, Jihye hopes to gain international policy experience in Europe before returning to Korea to contribute to national foreign policy for the 2030 presidential election.
