Jesita's research explores the intersection of labour and behavioral economics in developing countries, particularly through the lens of cultural and gender norms. Before starting her DPhil at the Blavatnik School of Government, Jesita served as a pre-doctoral fellow in the Development Economics group at the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH FAIR). There, she participated in Randomized Controlled Trials (RCTs) in Tanzania and Ghana, investigating the impact of gender attitudes on labour market outcomes and the challenges associated with transitioning from secondary school to employment. Prior to this, Jesita was a Research Assistant at Oxford and JPAL, and held various public sector positions including roles at the President's Staff Office and the Ministry of Economic Affairs.
Originally from Indonesia, Jesita holds an M.Res in Economics with Distinction from the Paris School of Economics and a BSc in Economics from Universitas Gadjah Mada, where she graduated as the Best Graduate.
