Jane Hutchings was proudly born and raised in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada.

Jane holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) and a Graduate Diploma in Accounting from Queen's University, Canada as a D&R Sobey Atlantic Scholar.

Before joining the Master of Public Policy, Jane worked at Deloitte as an analyst in Financial Advisory Services in Toronto, Canada while pursuing her CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) designation candidacy.

Jane's policy interests include rural economic development, sustainability and revitalisation methods coupled with economic policy. In the future, Jane hopes to serve as an elected official and economic diplomat.

She is pursuing the MPP as a way to grow, develop and nurture her policy-making skills while learning from her professors' and classmates’ broad skills and expertise. Jane is a Rhodes Scholar.
