As Academic Planning Coordinator, James is responsible for the academic planning for forthcoming terms, from timetabling and learning resources, to students’ selection of elective modules and faculty planning and innovation.

James studied Japanese and German at Oxford Brookes University, and prior to joining the School as Programmes Assistant in 2022, worked both in the UK and overseas in a number of Japan/Japanese language related roles. Most recently he was customer services and logistics manager for Japan’s top enzyme manufacturer.

In his free time, he enjoys music and martial arts. He plays shakuhachi (Japanese bamboo flute) and bass guitar, and is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
