Growing up in the U.K., Pakistan and Kenya, Iman contributed to several grassroots educational and environmental initiatives. Motivated by these formative experiences, she studied environmental management and human geography at the University of Toronto as a Lester B. Pearson and Laidlaw Scholar. After graduating, she worked as the Partnerships Coordinator at GivingTuesday, where she promoted philanthropic research. Iman later joined the Ontario Public Service as a Policy Development Intern at the Ministry of Environment, where she supported the Minister’s engagements at the 28th United Nations Climate Change Conference. Most recently, as a Senior Policy and Program Analyst at the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services, Iman collaborated with families and service providers to improve outcomes for children with special needs. Over the next year, she hopes to further develop the knowledge and expertise required to design and implement humane and effective policy solutions to the climate crisis.
