Ignacia Henríquez is a Patagonian Chilean industrial engineer passionate about how states navigate difficult but urgent decisions during emergencies, a growing challenge across Latin America and around the world. She approached this question through two policy fields: economy and education. As advisor to the Minister of Economy, she worked on the closure of a steelworks that was the pillar of employment for an entire region, helping foster its reconversion and shaping the discussion on its industrial future. In the education field, she addressed post-pandemic recovery both from government, through the Ministry of Education's National Reactivation Plan to improve attendance and learning, and from civil society, serving during university as spokesperson for Chile's National Student Confederation (CONFECH), Chile's main student movement, her first step into political leadership. Ignacia’s policy interests centre on state management, industrial diversification, and sustainable development.
