Maria (Ignacia) is Chilean lawyer with over a decade of experience in public policy, regulation, and energy law. She has held leadership roles at the Ministry of Energy and the National Energy Commission, where she led major reforms like the Energy Transition Law and the Tariff Stabilization Law (PEC 3), securing international financing and designing subsidies for vulnerable households. She has advised public authorities, negotiated with multilateral institutions, and coordinated multidisciplinary teams to address complex political and regulatory challenges.
Ignacia is deeply committed to public service and believes in the power of dedicated public servants to drive equitable, lasting change. Passionate about gender equity in the energy field, where women remain underrepresented, Ignacia works to build diverse, collaborative teams that lead inclusive transitions. Through the MPP, Ignacia aims to strengthen her academic foundation, build bridges, expand her global vision, and contribute to impactful policy design in Chile. Ignacia is a Policy Leadership scholar.
