biography

Hyungwook began his public service career as a Deputy Director at the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MOEF) of the Korean government. His work has focused on shaping economic and industrial policy and fostering venture and innovation-driven economy. He also played a key role in drafting major budget bills related to the COVID-19 response, the National Pension Service, housing supply and infrastructure. Notably, he recently served as a staff member to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of MOEF, supporting high-level engagements such as G7 meetings and state visits, and facilitating close cooperation with the National Assembly of Korea.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Seoul National University and recently completed a Master of Public Policy at the University of Oxford. Hyungwook is a Chevening Scholar.
