Huayizi is a journalist with over eight years of experience, specialising in reporting on China. Hailing from a small town in China, Huayizi pursued her passion for social science by earning two degrees in journalism and law from Lanzhou University.

Throughout her career, she has worked for media outlets such as Caixin, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and The New York Times, where she covered a wide range of topics, including China's economic sector, social justice issues, and its international relations.

In Oxford, Huayizi hopes to explore the underlying logic of policymaking and the various factors that shape it. She is also interested in the evolving role of China in global affairs.
