Hiroki has worked for the Government of Japan for six years following his studies in public law from the University of Tokyo.
As an official of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT), he has engaged in areas such as tourism and overseas infrastructure businesses, where the effectiveness of policymaking depends on cooperation with businesses. Given his struggles to interact with private sector properly, Hiroki is interested in the way governments understand the perspective of private sector and change their actions to accomplish policy targets. Upon graduation from the MPP, Hiroki plans to return to MLIT and wishes to lead Japanese enterprises as they adjust to international business trends, particularly digitalisation and carbon neutrality, and maintain international competitiveness in the future.
Hiroki is a Japanese Government Scholar.
