Hirofumi Iwasaki was the Transportation & Logistics Administration Director of the Tokyo 2020 Organizing Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games and coordinated various logistical arrangements.

As the Organizing Committee consisted of representatives of both government and private industry, the diversity of backgrounds and approaches helped Hirofumi and his colleagues overcome the unprecedented challenges of organising the Olympics during a global pandemic.

Hirofumi's key policy interest is to explore the formation of partnerships between public and private to manage certain government services; he will work to increase investments in business development.

Hirofumi comes to the Master of Public Policy with considerable experience from his current role at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, as well as a knowledge of finance and accounting as a Certified Public Accountant. He is confident that learning from MPP classmates and the diverse experiences they offer will enable him to return home ready to improve people’s lives in Tokyo and around the world.
