HIdekazu has been working for the Government of Japan for the past six years, focusing on information and communications policy such as promotion of the use of ICT, revision of the rules for telecommunications operators and supervision of broadcasters. Most recently, at the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, Hidekazu has tackled a series of legislative reforms that created a grant scheme to maintain broadband in a society with a declining population. He also worked in the Cabinet Secretariat on the design of two benefit projects to protect the lives of Japanese citizens from the impacts of COVID-19.
Hidekazu's main policy interests are to determine the most appropriate policy tools in decision-making and to maintain telecommunication infrastructure in the future depopulation society. He holds a Bachelor of Law from Kyoto University, Japan.
